Dahlias

August to October

Dahlia

Our end-of-season diva

When summer stretches out and the light becomes more golden, a new star takes center stage in the gardens of Château de Vullierens: the dahlia. This spectacular, exuberant, sometimes extravagant flower blooms profusely from July until the first frosts, extending the flowering season with a burst of shapes and colors.

A world of shapes

The dazzling finale of summer

Native to the high plateaus of Mexico, dahlias have conquered European gardens with their infinite palette and incredible botanical diversity. Spectacular and colorful, these tuberous perennials appeal for their diversity: decorative with full flowers, cactus-like with tapered petals, round pompons, or simple collared flowers prized by pollinators.
Easy to grow, dahlias love sun and rich, well-drained soil. With minimal care—staking, watering, removing wilted flowers—they offer abundant blooms until fall.
