Michele Spanghero, a graduate in modern literature from the University of Trieste with a specialization in dramaturgy, has also attended workshops in electronic music, improvisation, sound design, and video. He develops an interdisciplinary approach combining visual and sound art, sculpture, and photography, exploring the relationship between sound, space, and perception.

Since 2007, Spanghero has been an artist-in-residence at Stazione di Topolò / Postaja Topolove in Italy and participated in a one-month residency at MoKS – Mooste in Estonia in 2008. In 2016, he was recognized as “best young Italian artist” by Artribune magazine. Spanghero has presented his works in solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including at the Alberta Pane Gallery (Paris, Venice), bb15 (Linz), Centquatre (Paris), Casa d’Arte Futurista Depero – Mart (Rovereto), and the Museo Revoltella (Trieste).

Michele Spanghero explores the relationship between sound, space, and perception. His immersive installations use sound, sculpture, and photography to transform space and invite the viewer to a sensory and contemplative experience. Minimalist and precise, his works create a subtle dialogue between the environment, the material, and human perception, revealing invisible and ephemeral dimensions of space and time.

In the gardens of Vullierens Castle, Michele Spanghero presents the installation Dià (from the Greek “through”), which combines the dimensions of silence and sound. It consists of two horns assembled according to the “golden ratio,” through which viewers can listen to or observe the surrounding landscape. The device invites the public to interact with the two cavities as they would with a megaphone or a peephole, in order to initiate an intimate dialogue (dià-logos) through the sculpture itself.
