Book The Kingdom of the Lizard King
When Trees Help Children Grow from Within
The book THE KING LIZARD’S KINGDOM pays homage to the richness of unspoiled nature, which generously offers its treasures. A world made of Nature. To discover, to feel, to touch, to see, to listen to, and to respect.
Its story finds its source of inspiration in the woods of Vullierens Castle. It is on our land that children can come and meet it. While its inspiration is linked to an existing place, the Kingdom lives on through all the forests and all the trees of the World.
The main idea is to raise children’s awareness of trees and the protection they need in the face of the many dangers they encounter.
The story revolves around a lizard who finds shelter in the forest. He befriends a tree and, most importantly, becomes the King of the Kingdom because he saves the forest from an imminent danger known only to him, since he comes from the city. This danger comes from humans.
While the lizard provides the answer to “who the danger is,” it is the forest that finds the solution to counter it by teaching the lizard how its information system works. Through its narrative, the book explores messages such as solidarity, trust, and believing in one’s dreams. This book is also an invitation for children to make each tree, each piece of wood around them, their own Kingdom.
A book designed to satisfy the reading desires of children of different ages, adapting to their curiosity and their willingness to learn. A glossary introduces the book’s characters. A story constructed in a “fantasy and magical” style, while also grounding it in scientific facts explained in a question-and-answer format (optional for younger readers).
